We are fortunate to have two libraries on campus: one serving pre-kindergarten through fourth grade which is on the first floor of the elementary wing and one serving grades five through twelve which is on the top floor of the 97 building, at the top of the stairs in the Rotunda. A separate section in the library upstairs houses books specifically for middle school students. Everyone in the BLIS community is welcome to browse and check out books and magazines from either library. Recent additions to our middle school collection include:
The Kane Chronicles by Percy Jackson
The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan
The Serpent’s Shadow by Rick Riordan
Students are welcome to drop off book donations in either library. A “wish list” of books requested by students is available in the middle/high school library if you would like to purchase books in honor of your student or another family member. Speak with Ms. Heidi, the librarian upstairs, if you would like more information about this program.
Twice a year, BLIS students may order their own books and book-related items such as notebooks and DVDs from Baker Books. The book orders take place in November and April so be on the lookout for the Baker Book fliers coming home with your children.
